Sony Ericsson awarded for their successful model T610

Sony Ericsson has recieved a number of design awards for their successful model T610. The latest beeing the Grand Designprice (transl. from "Stora Designpriset"), of The Association of Swedish Engineering Industries.

It was the second time the price was awarded and the motivation from the jury was (transl.):
A few individuals can really lift a whole company, using design as a tool! In the toughest global competition, the commercial success of the T610 has marked a turningpoint for Sony Ericsson. A small group of designers have created a product with style and functionality that makes it stand out from the crowd. In the T610, Sony Ericsson has succesfully combined advanced technology with an intuitive and userfriendly interface and created a sofistikated "experience machine".

The T610 recieved the prestigeous iF Silver Award at the CeBIT Fair, March 18, as the only mobile communications product.
Quoted from the iF website: "Integrated digital camera, large color display, Bluetooth interface, multimedia messaging — the T610 mobile phone from Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB (in Sweden) offers everything a modern cell phone should have. Its design also reflects the natural light and shade of its surroundings (Erik Ahlgren, Sony Ericsson Creative Design Center)."

The Sony Ericsson T610 also prevailed at the 3GSM World Congress, Cannes, France, 25th February 2004. Sony Ericsson recieved the 2004 GSM Association Award for Technology Innovation: Best Mobile Terminal, Handset or Device Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications for the Sony Ericsson T610 (Global).

Large Display Wall at Volvo Technology
Nanco have completed the installation of a large display wall at Volvo Technology.


New Conference Room at Sony Ericsson
Nanco have installed the the conference room for Sony Ericsson Creative Design Center in Lund, Sweden. The system is built on the high resolution Sony SRX 4k projector and a 155" Stewart Filmscreen Starglas screen and Sony 52" monitors for extra information.

Danish Radio - Realtime Simulation in the construction industry
Danish Radio, the Danish stateowned television network, is building the latest "TV-village" in Örestad. The project, to be finished in 2006, includes four large building segments with a glassed-in street connecting them and has a total area of 255 000 square meters.


Hampf Industrial Design AB has become known for the high quality and strong identity of its design, and for designing easy-to-use products. They utilise software such as StudioTools, Rhino, Pro/Engineer and AutoCad.


Idesign is a company led by Johan Larsvall, located in the heart of Swedish yachting, by Riddarfjärden on Långholmen in Stockholm. Johan has been working with digital aids for years; since the beginning of the 90s Johan has used aids from Alias in his design work.

Malö Yachts, a famous boatbuilder in the center of Swedens boatbuilding community at Kungsviken, Orust have taken a new step when they introduced their new Malö 40. Malö Yachts together with NANCO have visulized the new Malö 40 as an interactive 3D model and with snapshots from the 3D model.


One of our customers, Myra Industriell Design AB, is a consultancy company that does industrial design and product development for manufacturing companies. They study the user’s requirements, and on the basis of this they help their customers develop products that last for many years. When the Construction and Design prize was awarded, inventions to improve medical care were at the top of the list. First prize went to Myra for the interior design of the Volvo S80 ambulance.



Nya Perspektiv Design AB was awarded the Design Prize for a Tyrannosaurus Rex on wheels. The Utmärkt Svensk Form Design Prize thus went to Nya Perspektiv Design AB for Volvo Articulated Haulers, which are frame-steered dumpers for the contracting industry – machines that are used for road-building and construction work.

Sony Ericsson is gaining ground in the field of mobile phones; several of their new phone models are already favourites all over the world. We have talked to Michel Sabouné, design manager at Sony Ericsson, who says Sony Ericsson’s target is to be the global leader in the field of mobile phones. Intensive development work is in progress, which will lead to further new models.
